Light of Life Ministry
June 2014 – Present (2 years 2 months)
Maintain a healthy and growing personal spiritual life and lead others to do the same.
Pay attention to the hopes, concerns, and needs of children in your community to determine how your congregation might serve them and their families and how they might serve one another as Christian disciples and good neighbors. Connect children's ministry to the overall goals of your congregation. Advocate for including children in all aspects of the ministry of the congregation. Raise awareness in your congregation to children’s needs and contributions in the community and the world.
Work with others, especially church staff and leaders, to plan and carry out ministry with children in a varied and wide-ranging program that includes worship, study, fellowship, and service opportunities.
Work with the children’s council (if organized) throughout the year, including planning its agendas and presiding at its meetings. If there is no children's council, call together children, parents and children's leaders for planning.
Continue to increase knowledge of curriculum and other resources available for children in order to help teachers and group leaders select appropriate resources for study and growth.
